Software Developer Apprentice

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate structured development skills and the ability to understand software from a business and user perspective
  • Translate specification into technical solutions and be able to document the solutions
  • Develop, test and maintain software to required standards to agreed timescales
  • Manage your own schedule and be responsible for reporting schedule deviations to your line manager
  • Adhere to technical, security and compliance standards
  • Communicate clearly, accurately and professionally, both technical and non-technical subject matter
  • Demonstrate and develop effective problem-solving abilities
  • Be self-motivated, work independently and as an active team member

Five GCSEs grades A – C (9 – 4 on the new grading system), and Level 3 qualifications, including A levels, NVQ/SVQ Level 3, or a BTEC National. Some will expect or require applicants to have subjects related to the particular apprenticeship.
