ASAP Computer Services is a professional IT support company based in Pangbourne, Berkshire. It was founded over twenty-five years ago in 1989 as a component level repair service for electronic devices, focusing on computers and their peripherals.
By the year 2000, ASAP had identified a requirement from many of their customers for on-site support. They became aware that many were frustrated being caught between software and hardware support companies. They launched their Field Service department, providing a single point of contact for hardware and software problems.
In addition, ASAP group also boasts a software development team providing a wide range of services from website creation to bespoke database systems.
ASAP have several clients running legacy database systems on MS Access and their clients wished to move their applications to cloud based solutions. The benefits this would provide included no longer using systems that were becoming end of life, incurring unnecessary costs of upgrading infrastructure and conversely, investing in systems that would provide long term benefits such as flexibility, scalability and the convenience of remote worker system access over the web. One client also identified that a mobile app would complement their new web application in providing workers with an essential tool to improve their productivity and reporting.
ASAP required a larger development partner to support them in building the web applications that would use a mix of WordPress and Laravel and Swift for building the mobile app. They approached KLOC to call on their experience of delivering PHP and .NET business applications and mobile apps.
